This was shot last weekend at the abandoned Packard Plant in Detroit with @shlags. Packard is one of the largest abandoned buildings in the world and spans over 35 acres. This was from 2nd floor overlooking one of the interior “courtyards”.
Process:
I’m used to spending quite a bit of time post-processing images but I’ve been less inclined to edit this series from Packard. Instead, I’ve found myself drawn to retaining the authenticity and emotional context of the space. Places like this are already visually impacting.
This image was shot with Camera+ so I could adjust/review exposure with more precision at the time of shooting (split exposure/focus). I picked a few points to monitor as I shifted the exposure reticle. One, the back wall to prevent washout. Two, the sides of the opening/silhouette to maximize edge contrast. Three, the bricks around the opening so they stood out nicely from the deep black. Snap. Save.

Intro:
Meet Eelco Roos an AMPt original. An ultra talented mobile photographer from Holland. Eelco was an important part of AMPt’s growth in the beginning. Read below to see what Eelco has been up to.
Process:
started editing in Snapseed, adjusted brightness/contrast and whitebalance a little.
used crossprocess on the edit
blended the first edit and cross-processed one with blender
used snapseed again for some final fine tuning
Update:
Getting noticed for my mobile photography gave me the opportunity to meet some very interesting people, I’ve been getting some advice and endorsements from these inspiring and motivating people. Hopefully I will be starting talks with a very innovative Dutch publisher soon. I’m really looking forward to working with a Dutch musician, he’s got a great concept going for the artwork on his new album. Im also preparing for a solo exhibition at music and literature festival Crossing Border in The Hague.

Title - cigarette monologue
Shot with iPhone native camera, cropped and minor edit in Snapseed, moved to scratchcam for texture; finally a bit of contrast tweak - in Toaster. I blurred the nipple in Retouch, to avoid offending sensitive eyes:)

Title: Living in the present
Process: I took the pic with the native camera and cropped it into square in Iris app. As I took the pic in the middle of the day the light is quite harsh so I had to do several things to soften the appearance. Firstly I turned it to b/w in Noir app and took it into Blur app, which is great for creating a soft bokeh like effect. I focused on a part of the little girl’s dress rather than the whole part of her to keep the expression slightly surreal and dreamy. Then it went into Snapseed where I adjusted the brightness and contrasts. Finally I sharpened the image in Photo Fx app.

Title: Hopeful
Description:
Shot with native camera, iPhone 4s. I was standing waist deep in the ocean for most of the shots. I use the lifeproof case it helps to be able to shoot uninhibited. I try to post what speaks to my heart. I don’t have a set edit style. It’s about what best captures the emotion/story I want to tell through my pictures…
Process:
Camera + added Clarity & saved.
Brought into snapseed:
Straightened & cropped to square
Tune Image: ambiance +5, warm balance +83
Select adjust: on scarf brightened & added a little saturation & contrast
Vintage filter 5: Center size 50% - style 40% -brightness 4% - saturation 30%

Bio:
I have been shooting mobile since I had a Razr, remember those?! I got my iPhone 3G in 2008 and I have been into iphoneography ever since. It wasn’t until I read about Chase Jarvis that I thought this was something that could be seen as art! Then I discovered instagrams serious side! I have a deep love and passion for mobile photography. I love the instant creative gratification it provides and the beautiful community I have found through it! Truly honored and humbled to be featured!
