AMPt Pillars is the foundation to how we will engage, promote, develop and inspire the mobile photography community.
“Feature 500” - features upcoming mobile artists with 500 followers or fewer
Feature 500 has been created to identify mobile artists who have outstanding talent that are yet to be recognised by the mobile community. Initially it can be difficult to gain followers and typically it will take a significant amount of time to surpass the 500 followers mark, or a simply a dose of good fortune. Feature 500 will highlight these people and aim to give them the recognition and exposure that they deserve.
The focus on Instagram is due to it being a great breeding ground for mobile photographers; we are featuring these talents here and on our Google+ Page to bring broader exposure to these emerging artists outside the confines of IG.
“Feature Jedi” - features established mobile artists
It’s no secret that there is already a growing list of seasoned mobile artists that create amazing images with mobile devices. Amazing in such a way that they challenge us to be better. These people mean something special to us. We wish we could have their art hanging up in our houses. The reason the mobile community has changed our lives so much is because of these people. They give us feedback, they build relationships with us, and most of all, they indirectly make us better photographers. They allow us to see their world through the screen of an iPhone. They allow us to see our world in a brand new way. AMPt calls these people: Jedi. They are the masters of their craft. They have the Force.
Again, the focus on Instagram is due to it being a great source of mobile photography talent; we are featuring these talents here and on our Google+ Page to help promote these fine artists outside the confines of IG.

Do you remember your first photo taken with your mobile? Do you remember your first post on any of the photo sharing social networks? The whole premise for this Pillar is to look back at where one first started and see one’s progression in the art of mobile photography. Some of us started out as photographers already with an eye for the art form. Most of us realized the power of mobile photography and mobile artistry after being inspired by others, playing around with the 1000’s of apps out there, and/or decided we really want to portray what we saw with our images. This Pillar is for us to look back. Remember and move forward. This art form is still young. There’s a lot room to play with.
“AMPt Darkroom” - features rich tutorials, tips and lessons related to creating art with mobile devices
AMPt Darkroom comes in response to community requests for rich tutorials, content and lessons spanning a wide range of mobile photography topics. New Darkroom lessons will be posted ever Monday and Tuesday on the ampteam.org website. Stay tuned each week for a preview of upcoming lessons and check back in for fresh new content each week.
